Worm Bin Tour/Making Class with Sarah Cassidy, Worm WonderWoman!
April 12 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Did you know that food waste is one of the major contributors to climate change? When
vegetable materials go into the landfill, they decay anaerobically, and release methane.
No bueno!
But when you compost in your own back yard, decomposition doesn’t produce harmful
methane! Other added benefits of making compost:
- reduce your household waste
- grow nutrient-dense food for your family or feed your landscape soil
- have 10,000 pets without bagging POOP or needing to make arrangements
when you go on vacation!
Come make your own worm bin!
We will peek into Sarah’s many and varied worm bins she keeps around the Grange,
and discuss the whole worm bin enchilada: what to feed them, where to stash the bin,
types of bedding, watering, how to harvest the vermicompost. Then make your own
worm bin!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bring a rubbermate or some similar tote, any size that works (12-31 gallon or bigger is
fine) for your envisioned worm space. I will provide drill, bedding material, and a bunch
of worms for you to adopt! Naming them is on you.
Fun to do as a family! Please purchase one ticket for each worm bin you plan to make.
