Quotes:
“Astley is really excelling in writing timely, relevant songs, and is … a natural vocalist and harp blower!” – Mark Hummel’s liner notes for ‘Seattle To Greaseland’ 2023
“Joel is hot on the harp, a very creative songwriter, and man can he sing!” – Leslie Fleury KSER Blues Odyssey DJ – 2020
“Astley’s clever lyrics are comparable to Rick Estrin and James Harman and like them he is a genuine triple threat artist. Additionally, there is ample guitar solo space for both Andersen and Burgin. Seattle to Greaseland is one of the best debuts of 2023 and the best West Coast harmonica debut since Big Harp George’s Chromaticism from 2014.”- Thomas J. Cullen III, Blues Music Magazine – 2023
“Joel Astley wll soon no longer be Seattle’s secret, with the rest of the blues world about to discover this dude. Seattle to Greaseland is one of the best albums of the year. Check it when you can.” – Bill Mitchell, Blues Bytes – 2023
“Once in a great while, an album comes along that checks all the right boxes. Seattle to Greaseland does that … and then some. There is not a weak link in the chain from start to finish. I recommend it highly.” – Bill Wilson, Reflections in Blue – 2023
